Cedar Ridge Happenings
Aloha, my friends! Things are going really great here at Cedar Ridge Academy!!! We are finally getting some high levels and just general vote-ups so a huge majority of the campus is working and doing pretty dang good at it! Also, the talent show is shaping up to be a really good preformance. There are a lot of people doing really creative and original acts that sound really good... in theory at least. (Evan and Brendan are doing Aborigines Bluegrass for their act. It sounds good on paper...) Any support and ideas you can give your kid for the tralent show would be awesome! (at least I think it would, I sure could have used it when my folks were on vacation! :) And that's your random update on your childs favorite place in the universe, (not!! :D) Cedar Ridge!

Weekends @ Cedar Ridge Academy Baby!!!
Hey everyone it's Kat bringing you a CRA update. A lot of things have been going on recently. We've been working hard on our books, there was a trails trip, and I went to a dance convention in Salt Lake City.
Annie and her daughter Kadee who also dances picked me up at 4:30 in the morning and we were off to Salt Lake. The first hour of the car ride was pretty quiet because we were all tired but after we got some breakfast we couldn't stop talking. Once we got to the convention we warmed up and got sweaty. The instructors were all contestants from the show So You Think You Can Dance. Lauren taugh lyrical, Legacy taugh hip hop, and twitch (a season winner) also taught hip hop. I had a lot of fun and was exahusted by the end of the day. For those of you who don't know I've danced since I was three and it's something I've really missed so it was nice to get to do it again. I'm very sore and pulled a muscle in my leg but it was worth it.

Flying Upwards @ CRA
Hey guys! Sorry that I haven't been on much recently, there's been a bug going around campus and it downed me for about a week. The good news is I'm the last student (so far) to catch it and I'm on the upward swing. :) Other than that, not much has changed on campus. We have several more high levels, and we've almost finished the children's books. Things are really on the upward swing and life is good. OH! One more thing that I forgot is we have an official date for the annual Cedar Ridge Academy Talent Show! On October 16 anyone level 600+ can do their totally awesome, home manager approved personal skill for everyone on campus to see! I'm sure there will be a video so you guys at home can enjoy the event as well! anyways, that's all thats been happening at CRA. Have a great week!!!

P.S. We have some pictures on the way very soon so stay tuned!!!

Hi, things have been pretty calm here at Cedar Ridge. The campus has started to work on the children's books. We have some pretty awesome little kid stories going on. The school ordered our own book binding thing so we have control of how many pages, what it looks like, etc. We're excited because that leaves us more flex room for the number of pages, what it looks like, and all that jazz. Student Council is working on choosing a mascot for the school. The candidates are: the Cedar Ridge Tigers, the Cedar Ridge Owls, and the Cedar Ridge Raptors. Pretty soon here we'll be promoting potiential mascots by making t-shirts, cookies (well, I hope lol), etc. That's all for now, when more stuff happens, we'll let you know. Bye -Jamie and Kat

Books for Neola Elementary
Hello Parents,
Student Council blogged a little about the plans we have rolling for writing and publishing children's books for Neola Elementary. We started on Friday with a couple of lectures on illustration styles and reading levels and paired the students up to brainstorm their plots.
The project involves students writing books in the content areas of history, science, art, and school values and illustrating them. We are having them published online at studentpublishing.com. Parents will be able to order a copy of their student's book with an order form we will email to you when we have the students' names all set up on the order site. We do have an account, and we are scheduled to upload all of our material by October 15.
Jamie and I spoke with Neola's principal, Mr. Arko, last week. When the books arrive, we will round up the students on 700 and up to take the books to the school and read them to the students before leaving them with the teachers.
Stay posted for pics and the student council perspective as the project unfolds!

Goings on @ Cedar Ridge
Hey guys! Just showing up to tell you 'bout what's happening at dear old Cedar Ridge Academy. We finally had a practice for the Black Belt Challenge on Sunday, and I have never been more sore in all my life! We exercised using the rhythm tape, a tape with 18 sets. One set is thirty repetitions of five beats. Doing karate workouts to the tape was brutal! My abs still haven't recovered! And we only did 16 sets!!! I can't imagine how I'll survive it next week. Hopefully I'll manage. :) Speaking of karate, we have Kyu exams on this Friday, so make sure to ask your kid if they recieved their next belt on your next phone call. The whole campus has been going crazy waiting for the opportunity to test up. (Especially me!!!) Next week since we have three days of no school, we as a campus have the opportunity to work on the books we're making for the elementary school in Neola. We found a way to publish them, and I'm fairly sure copies will be available for sale at blurb.com... but I'm not 100% sure about that. Anyways that's pretty much the 411 on the happenings @the Ridge! More pictures soon to follow! See ya l8rz!
